The E² Shot uses PRF (platelet-rich fibrin) to increase blood flow response and trigger new blood vessel growth, resulting in better erections and more satisfying orgasms.
If you are looking for the latest treatments in Northern Michigan, RegenCen in Petoskey and Traverse City provides state-of-the-art treatments for sexual wellness in both men and women.
Erectile dysfunction affects men at all ages and stages
Erection changes are a normal part of the aging process, but they profoundly affect a man’s confidence both in and outside the bedroom. Slowly declining erection function isn’t only about intercourse - it affects many aspects of self-perception, relationships with sex partners, and how “old” or how “healthy” men feel overall.
Erectile dysfunction (ED) affects millions of men in the United States - Petoskey and Traverse City are no exceptions. Many men are embarrassed by the changes to their sexual health and responsiveness, but these issues are a natural occurrence. In fact, the prevalence of ED scales with age, and virtually every man has progressively less erection function beyond their 30’s
Tissues in your penis have balloon-like capabilities: they inflate with increased blood flow during erections, then deflate as the flow reverses. As you age, this “ballooning” effect slowly weakens due to changes in blood vessels which impact the flow. Erections lose rigidity and volume, in turn reducing sensitivity and size, making it tougher to climax, reducing the intensity of orgasms, and sometimes even shrinking the size of full erections.
Although drug treatments like Viagra and Cialis can help, they don’t work in all cases, and become less effective with time. Modern medicine gives today’s Northern Michigan men more options for treating erectile dysfunction, including PRF, which is a completely natural injection that comes from a patient’s own blood.
At RegenCen, we are proud to offer this drug-free, surgery-free alternative for men suffering from ED.
At our offices in Petoskey and Traverse City, we are experts in the administration of the Priapus Shot® (also known as P-Shot), and we have advanced this treatment through the use of PRF. The original P-shot improves erections utilizing platelet-rich plasma (PRP), and RegenCen Medical Director Dr. Gustav Lo received training and certification to perform the P-shot through the inventor, Dr. Charles Runels, in 2018. More recent medical studies showed an even better result using PRF (vs PRP) and we coined the term the “E² shot.”
In addition to enhanced erection function, increased penile length and girth are a goal for many clients. For increased penile size, our treatment program includes a series of 3 injections spaced 4-6 weeks apart, as well as other treatment modalities.
PRF for Erectile Dysfunction
The Step-by-Step Process
There is very little preparation needed for The E² Shot. You will have a consultation with Dr. Lo in either our Traverse City or Petoskey office to make sure that the treatment is right for you. He'll discuss your health history, so bring a list of current medications and conditions you're being treated for.
DAY OF TREATMENT
Come to the office well hydrated. We will start the process by applying topical anesthetic to make the subsequent injections of local anesthetic painless. Then we will draw your blood to prepare the PRF for injection. While the PRF is being prepared, the doctor will inject a local anesthetic, which makes the procedure pain-free.
Once the PRF has been prepared and you are completely numb, Dr. Lo will administer perform the injections. When finished, you can dress and get ready to leave. Our office will coordinate a time for a follow-up visit with you. Most patients see results within a day or two, although it may take a couple of weeks to see the full results.
There are no other restrictions. Because the treatment is noninvasive, you can resume your normal activities immediately, including sex.
