We sat down with Ashley Lamb, NP-C, at RegenCen in Fenton, Michigan, to talk about her journey from ICU nursing to regenerative medicine, how her own health challenges shaped her passion for whole-body wellness, and the patient story that still brings her to tears.
Tell us a little about yourself outside of work.
I love being outdoors and spending time with my husband and friends. Because I have celiac disease, we’ve gotten into exploring gluten-free cooking together, which has connected me with a whole community of people on similar healing journeys.
What’s your medical background, and how did you find your way into regenerative medicine?
I started in the ICU as a nurse and later took on travel nursing contracts, mostly in intensive care. After becoming a nurse practitioner, I worked as a hospitalist and in neurosurgery. My experiences across different specialties gave me a strong foundation, but what drew me to RegenCen was the ability to help patients on a deeper level—by addressing root causes, not just symptoms.
Have you tried any RegenCen treatments yourself?
Yes, I’ve personally experienced hormone therapy, NAD+, and PRF. Each one has helped me with inflammation, energy, and overall wellness. That personal experience has been transformative for me, and it allows me to connect with patients in a way that feels authentic—I know firsthand the difference these treatments can make.
What inspired your passion for hormone health and regenerative medicine?
Honestly, it came from my own health journey. Even as a medical professional, I didn’t fully realize how much optimizing hormones and addressing inflammation could impact my quality of life. Experiencing that shift made me determined not to overlook root causes in others. Now, I’m passionate about helping patients restore their energy, balance, and confidence.
What concerns do you hear most often from patients?
The biggest thing patients say is, “I just don’t feel like myself anymore.” That usually translates into fatigue, poor sleep, hot flashes, brain fog, weight gain, or low libido—sometimes all at once.
What advice would you give someone who feels “off” but doesn’t know where to begin?
Start with a consultation. We can run detailed labs, talk through symptoms, and create a personalized plan. Every patient is unique, and what works for one person may not work for another. Getting to the root of what’s going on is the best first step.
How do aesthetics and regenerative care complement each other?
They’re really two sides of the same coin. When you feel better, you naturally want to look better—and vice versa. Patients often start with one focus, then expand to the other once they see progress. Together, aesthetics and regenerative medicine help people feel good from the inside out.
Do you have a favorite patient success story?
Yes, one that always stays with me is a woman in her 50s who came to us with severe asthma and sleep apnea. She participated in several treatments, including medical weight loss, and over time lost a significant amount of weight safely and sustainably. Her asthma improved, and she no longer needed her CPAP at night. She was so emotional; she said it was life changing. That’s the kind of transformation that makes this work so rewarding.
What improvements do men often notice after testosterone replacement?
The most common are better mood, improved focus, better sleep, and later on, increased energy and libido. One older patient told me that after treatment, he finally had the motivation and energy to play with his grandkids again. For him, that was huge—and that’s really what this is all about.
Which treatments have surprised you the most?
PRF has been eye-opening, both for hair restoration and skin rejuvenation. Before working here, I didn’t even realize it was an option. Seeing the science translate into real results is incredible.
What’s one thing you wish more people knew about regenerative medicine?
That it’s not just about aesthetics. These treatments restore vitality, function, and quality of life. Optimizing hormones, addressing joint pain, improving sleep—those changes go far beyond appearance.
Where do you see hormone replacement and regenerative medicine heading in the next decade?
I think we’ll continue moving toward a more personalized, proactive model of care. More women are realizing they don’t have to accept feeling “off” as just part of aging. Advances in bioidentical hormone therapy and regenerative treatments will only grow, helping people age better from the inside out.
What’s your favorite part about working with RegenCen?
It’s the combination of everything. Dr. Lo’s leadership, the collaboration with other providers, and being part of a team that integrates aesthetics and hormone health. For me, it’s especially rewarding because I’ve experienced the benefits personally, and now I get to bring that to my patients.
And just for fun, what’s your coffee order?
I’m an iced matcha latte girl—coconut milk, one pump of vanilla, and extra ice. It’s oddly specific, but it’s my favorite!
