What patients say about their experience with Caroline
Get to know your provider Caroline
We sat down with Caroline Hughes, PA-C, to talk about her work as a certified menopause practitioner at RegenCen in Winter Park and Lake Mary, her unwavering love for NAD+ therapy, and the patient story that reminded her just how life-changing regenerative medicine can be.
Can you tell us a little bit about yourself? Where do you live and what do you enjoy doing outside of work?
I’m recently moved to Winter Park earlier this year. Outside of work, I love Pilates, going to the farmer’s market, exploring new restaurants with friends, and just staying active.
You mentioned NAD+, can you tell us about your experience with it?
NAD+ is something I truly can’t live without. I tried it for a while, stopped, and quickly realized how much I missed it. Now, it’s part of my weekly routine. It helps me bounce back from hard workouts or busy weekends and just show up as my best self.
What inspired your passion for hormone health and regenerative medicine?
Watching my mom go through menopause with so few options really opened my eyes. I knew there had to be something better for women, so I dove into learning about hormone therapy. Being able to share that knowledge with her, and now help other women navigate the same stage, has been incredibly meaningful.
What are the most common concerns you hear from patients?
Weight gain or stubborn weight in the midsection is a big one. Many women tell me they’ve never struggled with it before, and suddenly they can’t lose it no matter what they try. I also hear a lot about brain fog, women losing their train of thought mid-sentence, and deep fatigue, like feeling they’ve run a mile halfway through the day.
You specialize in both aesthetics and regenerative wellness. How do those areas work together?
They really complement each other. Many patients come to me wanting to feel better or look better — often both. When you start feeling more balanced internally, it shows on the outside, and when you feel good about how you look, it fuels your confidence and motivation. It’s all connected.
What kinds of improvements do you see most often with testosterone therapy?
Patients gain muscle more easily and notice their workouts becoming more effective. Libido often improves, and so does motivation. I hear that word a lot “motivation.” They’re waking up ready to take on the day again.
Can you share a favorite patient success story?
I had a patient come in for a consultation who was feeling really discouraged and skeptical, she didn’t think anything would help. But she decided to try hormone therapy. When she returned six weeks later, I barely recognized her — her energy, her outlook, everything was different. Even her family noticed. She told me, “I didn’t realize how negative I’d become. Now I feel like myself again.” Seeing that transformation was incredible.
Is there one thing you wish more people knew about hormone or regenerative treatments?
That they’re completely individualized. It’s not a one-size-fits-all approach. Even if someone’s tried hormone therapy before without success, that doesn’t mean it can’t work for them. We tailor every plan and adjust slowly, together, until we find what works best.
How do you see hormone and regenerative medicine evolving in the next decade?
It’s finally being talked about... and that’s huge. For too long, women were told to just deal with symptoms. Now, as more women share their stories, it’s becoming mainstream, and more people are getting the relief they deserve.
What’s your favorite part about working at RegenCen?
Honestly, the people. Amanda is such a passionate leader and an endless source of knowledge. She really inspired me when I first joined, and once I started seeing results firsthand, I was hooked.
Just for fun, if you weren’t in medicine, what would you be doing?
I’d probably be a DJ! I love music, entertaining, and creating an atmosphere where everyone’s having a good time — especially outdoors at a day party. There’s something magical about everyone dancing together.
Anything else you want readers to know?
Hormone replacement is truly my passion. It’s the most rewarding part of what I do because I get to witness patients transform, not just physically, but in how they show up for their lives.
