Get to know your provider Elizabeth
We sat down to talk with Elizabeth Gapske, PA-C about her work as a physician assistant in Traverse City, Michigan, her appreciation for natural, regenerative approaches that work with the body rather than against it, and the patient moments that first surprised her by just how life changing they could be.
Can you tell us a little bit about yourself and your life outside of work?
I was raised in northern Michigan, and returning to this area always felt important to me. I actually attended a community-focused program through Grand Valley that emphasized rural and underserved care, so I completed all of my clinical rotations in those settings. It really shaped how I approach patients today.
I grew up in Alpena on the east side of the state, and now I live in Traverse City with my husband. Outside of work, we love being outdoors. Hiking, camping, boating, and spending time with friends and family are big parts of our life here. This past summer we also got really into pickleball, and I play volleyball in a women’s league.
Where did you work before joining RegenCen and CSLC?
Before joining the team, I worked in family medicine. I practiced in Frankfort, Michigan, where I focused heavily on preventive care and long-term patient relationships.
Have you explored any regenerative treatments yourself?
I have not done a wide range of regenerative treatments yet, but I have personally experienced PRF, including PRF injections and PRF for neck bands. What I love about regenerative medicine is the natural approach. You are essentially harnessing your body’s own healing potential. The response you can see from PRF, especially when using your own growth factors, is really impressive.
What inspired your interest in hormone health and regenerative medicine?
I was drawn to this field because so many patients feel misunderstood before they arrive here. They often feel unheard or dismissed, and I love that this is an area of medicine where listening truly matters.
It is also an evolving field. We are constantly learning, growing, and refining how we care for patients. There are challenges, but there is also tremendous opportunity. Seeing patients finally feel understood, improve their quality of life, and get meaningful results is incredibly rewarding.
What concerns do patients most often bring to you?
For women especially, I hear a lot about fatigue, brain fog, joint pain, vaginal dryness, sexual dissatisfaction, and the feeling that they have lost the energy or motivation they once had. Many patients say they just do not feel like themselves anymore, and this environment allows them to talk openly about that.
What advice would you give someone who feels off but does not know where to start?
I always recommend starting with a consultation. Our consultations are complimentary, which makes it an easy first step. It gives us the opportunity to talk through symptoms, concerns, and goals in detail. From there, especially with hormones, initial lab work helps us understand what is happening and what options may truly help.
What improvements do men most often report after testosterone replacement therapy?
Energy is by far the most common improvement. Many men say they finally feel like themselves again. They can exercise, stay active throughout the day, and still have energy in the evening. It often feels like they are getting their life back.
Can you share a favorite patient success story?
One patient stands out. He started testosterone therapy and came back for his six-week follow-up having completely stopped a sleep medication he had been dependent on for years. He was sleeping better naturally and no longer needed it. Seeing changes like that is incredibly exciting and meaningful.
What treatments have surprised you most with their results?
Vaginal rejuvenation has been one of the most impactful treatments I have seen. Patients who struggled with incontinence, discomfort, or intimacy for years often return after a series of treatments feeling like their lives have completely changed. The physical improvements are significant, but the emotional and mental impact can be just as profound.
What is something you wish more people understood about regenerative treatments?
I wish more people realized how truly life changing these therapies can be. Some see regenerative medicine as optional or concierge care, but when you look at patient retention and long-term satisfaction, it is clear people continue because they feel better. It is an investment in yourself that can dramatically improve quality of life.
How do you see hormone replacement and regenerative medicine evolving in the future?
There has been a major increase in conversation around hormone replacement therapy, which is exciting. I hope it continues to drive more research, education, and broader support. As awareness grows, so does the opportunity to better serve patients.
What do you enjoy most about working at RegenCen?
I truly love working with women and being a listening ear when they have not felt heard elsewhere. Building meaningful relationships with patients and walking alongside them through their progress is incredibly fulfilling. We have such kind, motivated patients, and being part of their success stories is something I value deeply.
Just for fun, what is your go-to coffee order?
An iced oat milk latte with lavender. It is my favorite.
