What patients say about their experience with Kayla
Get to know your provider Kayla
We sat down with Kayla Patnode, PA-C, to talk about her work in regenerative and aesthetic medicine at RegenCen in Chelsea and Ann Arbor, her favorite treatment (hint: it uses your body’s own healing power), and what it takes to help patients truly feel like themselves again, from the inside out.
Can you tell us a little about your background and what you enjoy outside of work?
Absolutely. I’m originally from Midland, Michigan, and now live in the Pinckney–Putnam area. I earned my undergraduate degree in Kinesiology with a minor in Health Promotion from Michigan State University, and my master’s in Physician Assistant Studies from Mary Baldwin University’s Murphy Deming College of Health Sciences.
Outside of work, I’m happiest outdoors; water skiing (I compete in it!), hiking with friends and my dog, or playing disc golf.
Did you work in medicine before becoming a PA in regenerative and aesthetic care?
Before becoming a PA, I worked as a certified nursing assistant in a nursing home and rehab facility during undergrad. After PA school, I went directly into aesthetics and regenerative medicine—it’s where I knew I wanted to be.
You mentioned PRF, tell us more about your experience with it.
I love PRF. I’ve used it personally for acne scarring and under-eye discoloration, and the improvement was remarkable. You can hardly see where the scarring was. It’s powerful to show patients my own before-and-afters, it builds trust because I’ve experienced those results myself.
What inspired your passion for regenerative and hormone health?
During undergrad, I shadowed a PA in regenerative and aesthetic medicine and immediately felt drawn to it. I love helping people align how they feel with how they see themselves in the mirror—helping them feel better both physically and emotionally.
What are the most common concerns you hear from patients at RegenCen?
Fatigue, weight gain, and poor sleep are the big three. So many patients come in feeling “off” but not sure why.
What advice do you have for someone who feels off but doesn’t know where to begin?
Come in and talk to a regenerative medicine provider. We’ll start with a deep dive, looking at symptoms, medical history, and lab work. Often these symptoms are connected—like poor sleep leading to fatigue. Once we have a clear picture, we can choose the right path forward together.
What do your hormone replacement patients tell you after starting therapy?
I’ve had both men and women tell me, “You’ve given me my life back.” They feel lighter, more energetic, more like themselves again. That’s the best part of what I do, seeing that transformation.
Besides hormone therapy, what treatments have impressed you most?
PRF continues to amaze me. It’s incredible how using the body’s own healing factors can improve skin texture, joint pain, and even sexual wellness. I’ve seen life-changing results across the board, from horizontal neck lines to joint injections.
How do you see regenerative medicine and HRT evolving for women in the next decade?
I hope it becomes much more accessible, especially testosterone therapy for women. Too often, women struggle to find providers who will address all of their hormones, not just estrogen and progesterone. I’d love to see that change.
What do you enjoy most about working at RegenCen and CSLC?
I love the variety. We can help patients with hormone replacement or weight loss, and in the same visit, address aesthetic concerns like fine lines or volume loss. It’s rewarding to be part of a clinic that offers a full spectrum of care in one place.
And just for fun—if you weren’t in medicine, what would you be doing?
Probably something remote where I could work from home and hang out with my dog all day.
