Lisa Otero, NP-C provides hormone optimization, regenerative medicine, and metabolic health care at RegenCen in Lake Mary and Winter Park, helping patients restore energy, resilience, and confidence through every stage of life. She brings a steady, thoughtful presence to care, blending deep clinical experience with a genuine commitment to listening, educating, and guiding each patient with intention.

She understands how disruptive symptoms like fatigue, weight gain, joint pain, brain fog, sleep disruption, sexual health concerns, and hormonal changes can feel. Every treatment plan is designed to support how you feel today while also protecting how you want to feel years from now.

Lisa brings a deep and seasoned clinical background to RegenCen, including extensive experience in labor and delivery, general surgery, and orthopedics before becoming a nurse practitioner. That breadth of training gives her a uniquely holistic perspective, one that connects hormones, metabolism, musculoskeletal health, and recovery into a more complete picture of patient wellness. Get to know your provider Lisa

We sat down with Lisa Otero, NP-C to talk about her work as a regenerative medicine provider in Lake Mary and Winter Park, her personal experience with hormone therapy, and the perspective that continues to shape the way she approaches menopause care and whole-body wellness.

Tell us a little about yourself. Where do you live, and what do you enjoy outside of work?
I live in Orlando with my husband, and we love to travel whenever we can. We enjoy skiing, hiking, especially out west, and spending time outdoors. We also have a puppy named Figgy, so a lot of our time is spent just being outside, exploring, and enjoying nature together.

Where did you work before joining RegenCen?
I started my nursing career in labor and delivery, where I spent about eight years in women’s health. Most recently, I worked in orthopedic surgery as an operating room nurse.

Would you be open to sharing your own wellness journey? Have you tried HRT, NAD+, PRF, or medical weight loss?
Yes. I began experiencing perimenopause symptoms around age 40, and by 42, they became difficult to manage. My provider started me on estrogen, progesterone, and testosterone, and it truly changed my life. I also incorporated semaglutide and lost 30 pounds. I felt like myself again. It was a complete shift in how I felt day to day.

I’m still on hormone therapy and semaglutide, and I’ve added NAD+ support. I also do PRF treatments under the eyes.

What inspired your passion for hormone health and regenerative medicine?
I’ve always had an interest in women’s health, but my personal experience is what really drove me toward this field. I saw firsthand how significant the gap in menopause care can be for women. I wanted to help bridge that gap, whether by treating patients directly or simply helping them understand that options exist. Hormone therapy and regenerative treatments can dramatically improve quality of life when approached thoughtfully.

What are the top symptoms or concerns you hear from patients?
Fatigue, sleep issues, low libido, and a general sense of not feeling like themselves. That feeling is hard to describe, but patients know it when they experience it. It goes much deeper than just being tired.

What are the top improvements men mention after testosterone replacement?
The first changes are usually energy and motivation. Over time, they may also notice improvements in muscle mass, but the initial shift is often how much better they feel day to day. Many patients begin to notice these changes within a few weeks.

Can you briefly and anonymously share a favorite patient success story?
It’s hard to choose just one. I’ve had many patients become emotional after starting treatment because of how much better they feel. There’s a real sense of relief when they realize they don’t have to live that way anymore.

Other than hormone health, what treatments have surprised you most with their results?
NAD+ and PRF for intimacy. Both are incredibly effective regenerative treatments, yet still underutilized outside of this space. The results can be significant, and they work with your body’s own biology.

What’s one thing you wish more people knew about regenerative treatments or a specific therapy?
PRF, especially. Whether it’s for hair, under-eye support, or joint health, it has so much potential. When patients commit to a series of treatments, the results can be truly impressive.

How do you see hormone replacement and regenerative medicine evolving over the next 10 years for women?
It’s going to grow rapidly. The science behind hormone therapy and regenerative medicine will continue to improve, and awareness will expand. I think we’re only at the beginning of what’s possible in optimizing long-term health.

What do you enjoy most about working at RegenCen?
The people and the culture. Everyone is supportive, highly educated, and committed to continuous learning. The level of training and collaboration here is something special. I’m genuinely grateful to be part of this team.

Just for fun, what’s your go-to coffee order?
A grande Americano, usually with two pumps of vanilla and a brown sugar cold foam.

If you weren’t in medicine, what would you be doing?
I used to do hair before becoming a nurse, so I might have stayed in that field. But it’s hard to imagine doing anything other than medicine now.
