Get to know your provider Marcy

We sat down to talk with Marcy Carr, PA-C, about her work as a physician assistant in Winter Park and Lake Mary, Florida, her passion for women’s hormone health, and the regenerative treatments that continue to surprise her with their impact. From early career insights to the patient transformations that motivate her most, Marcy shares what it really takes to help patients feel like themselves again.

Can you tell us a little about yourself and what you enjoy outside of work?
I’m originally from Whitmore Lake, Michigan, but I currently live in Orlando. Outside of work, I love spending time outdoors on nature trails, being with my dog and my boyfriend, and thrifting at antique shops. It’s one of my favorite ways to unwind.

Are you open to sharing your own wellness journey?
Absolutely. I’ve been on semaglutide for a little over six months, and I’m very open about it. I don’t think there should be stigma around GLP-1 medications. The more we educate people, the more progress we can make as a community. I’ve lost about 20 pounds, feel less inflamed, move better, and my overall mental health has improved.

What inspired your interest in hormone health and regenerative medicine?
As women, we do a great job supporting each other through early milestones like puberty and pregnancy. But when it comes to perimenopause and menopause, education and research still fall short. I’m passionate about helping women understand what their bodies are going through and reassuring them that what they’re experiencing is normal. Education and personalized treatment can truly help people feel like themselves again.

What are the most common concerns you hear from patients at RegenCen?
Many patients tell me they don’t recognize themselves anymore, physically or mentally. There’s often a deep exhaustion and a sense of not knowing where to begin. I emphasize that health sometimes needs a tune-up, both internally and externally. We start with comprehensive lab work, identify things like vitamin deficiencies or hormone imbalances, and then create an individualized plan from there.

Can you share a favorite patient success story?
One patient had been dealing with chronic health issues and was never really guided through menopause. She felt drained and disconnected from herself. After starting bioidentical hormone replacement therapy, within just a few months she told me she felt like she did 20 years ago. Seeing her confidence, energy, and happiness return was incredibly rewarding.

What’s one thing you wish more people understood about regenerative treatments?
Regenerative medicine is about restoring function and vitality, not just appearance. Platelet-rich fibrin therapy is a great example. Many people think it’s only for aesthetics, but it can help with joint pain, hair restoration, and even sexual health. It’s a very versatile treatment that can significantly improve quality of life.

How do aesthetics and regenerative medicine complement each other in your work?
They go hand in hand. When someone looks in the mirror and doesn’t feel like themselves, improving how they feel internally or externally often unlocks progress in the other area. Once one side starts improving, it naturally supports the other.

How do you see hormone and regenerative medicine evolving over the next decade?
I think we’ll see major advancements, especially in women’s health. As women continue to have a stronger presence in healthcare, business, and policy, there will be more focus on treatments for perimenopause and menopause. I expect better therapies, more research, and hopefully greater accessibility for women.

What’s your favorite part about working at RegenCen?
The people, without a doubt. I also love hands-on procedures like PRF, joint injections, and hormone pellets. It’s fascinating clinically, but more importantly, it’s incredibly fulfilling to see patients feel better and regain confidence in their lives.

Just for fun, what’s a health myth you love busting?
That women are only estrogen-driven. Women actually have more testosterone than estrogen in their bodies. Testosterone plays a critical role in energy, mood, and daily function, and it’s essential to overall well-being.

If you weren’t in medicine, what would you be doing?
Probably something creative, like art. I’m not great at it, but I love painting and drawing as a way to relax.

And finally, what’s your coffee order?
An iced chai latte, always dirty. Usually with three shots of espresso.
