Get to know your provider Teresa
We sat down with Teresa Vettese, NP-C, to talk about her work as a nurse practitioner at RegenCen East Lansing and Bloomfield Hills, her love of holistic medicine (inspired by her dad long before it was mainstream), and how regenerative treatments like PRF joint injections can make you feel like you’re “walking on clouds.”
Where do you live, and what do you enjoy doing outside of work?
I live in Royal Oak, Michigan. When I’m not working, I’m probably out playing pickleball with my boyfriend. It’s our favorite way to stay active. At home, I have a 100-pound German Shepherd who keeps me pretty busy too!
Before joining CSLC and RegenCen, what kind of work did you do?
I worked for a large mobile laser hair removal company as a regional manager for the Midwest. I oversaw onboarding, protocol enhancements, and daily operations. One of the best parts was getting to travel, there are only a few states I haven’t visited.
You mentioned you’ve had PRF treatments yourself, what was your experience like?
Yes! I’ve had PRF injections in my knees. I played sports my whole life, so they’ve definitely taken a beating. After PRF, it feels incredible—like I’m walking on clouds. I finally have that cushion and lubrication again.
What first inspired your passion for hormone health and regenerative medicine?
My dad, actually. He’s always been into supplements and started hormone replacement therapy probably 20 years ago, before it was even common. Growing up, he really showed me the importance of optimizing our hormones for long-term health. That definitely shaped my path and my love for regenerative medicine.
What are some of the most common issues patients come to you for help with?
A lot of people tell me, “I just don’t feel like myself anymore.” They’ll mention fatigue, lack of motivation, or not recognizing themselves in the mirror. It’s usually a combination of low energy and hormonal imbalance; and often, they’ve been searching for answers for a long time before finding us.
Do you have a favorite patient success story?
So many. One that really touched me was a woman who came in struggling with low libido. She loved her husband and had a great life, but she said she didn’t feel like herself anymore. After starting hormone replacement therapy, she told me it completely changed her life—and even saved her marriage.
Another patient came in with a chronic hand tremor. She’d seen countless doctors and had tons of nerve testing, but nothing helped. We started her on vitamin D, our B-Fit shots, and NAD+, and within two weeks, the tremor disappeared. Her other doctors couldn’t believe it.
Which treatment has surprised you the most with its results?
Our medical weight loss program. Not just for the weight loss itself, but for the anti-inflammatory effects of GLP-1 medication. Patients often say, “I don’t even care about the weight loss anymore, I just feel so much better.” They notice reduced swelling and inflammation in their body, which is amazing to see.
How do you see hormone replacement and regenerative medicine evolving over the next 10 years?
I think it’s going to become the new standard of care. People are realizing that optimizing hormones isn’t just about feeling good now, it’s about long-term wellness and disease prevention. I see regenerative medicine becoming more accessible and mainstream.
You’re trained in both aesthetics and regenerative medicine. How do those areas complement each other?
They go hand in hand. When someone feels off internally, low energy, hormonal imbalance, it often shows in their skin. Low estrogen, for example, can lead to dryness or dullness. So while treatments like Botox or fillers refresh the outside, hormone therapy supports the inside. The two together create true, whole-body rejuvenation.
What’s your favorite part about working at RegenCen?
The patient impact, without question. Seeing people get their lives back is the best part of my day. And I love that I get to practice regenerative medicine full-time—it’s not something you learn about in traditional nursing school, so finding this career path has been such a gift.
If you weren’t in medicine, what would you be doing?
I’d have an animal sanctuary! I’d rescue dogs from shelters and let them roam free on lots of land with all the treats they could ever want. That’s definitely my dream outside of medicine.
What’s your go-to coffee order?
At Starbucks, it’s a caramel macchiato. But I make it a little healthier with fewer pumps of vanilla. At home, it’s just plain black coffee—simple and strong!
